Energy Assistance Program Are you worried about your heating costs? The HopeSource Energy Assistance Program can potentially help.

The HopeSource Energy Assistance Program can provide help paying for a variety of different heating costs such as electric, gas, oil, propane, wood, and wood pellets. Eligible participants can receive benefits ranging from $25 to $1,000.

HopeSource’s Energy Assistance Program for the 2009-10 season is officially closed as of Aug. 31, 2010.  HopeSource will begin accepting requests via phone (509-962-0435)and online for the 2010-11 season beginning Monday Oct. 25th at 8am.  Any requests received prior to Oct. 25th will not be processed.  Appointments will begin on or around Monday, November 1st, 2010 (the exact date will depend on when HopeSource receives its funding).   For more program information please click on "FAQ" tab and read the information listed under "Energy Assistance."

THINGS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING WITH YOU TO YOUR APPOINMENT
  • Photo ID
  • Social Security Cards for everyone over 18
  • Income Statements for last three months for everyone in the household
  • Energy Bills (utility company, propane provider, etc.)
  • 12 month printout of utility usage
  • Shut off/disconnect notice (if applicable)
  • Physical Address Verification
NOTE: You will receive a notification card in the mail indicating the date and time of your energy assistance appointment along with a list of what documentation you will need to bring with you. Failure to provide required documentation will result in the termination of your appointment. Click on FAQ for more information. Due to the high volume of requests, it may be over two months before you receive a notification card in the mail.



Conservation Education

The Conservation Education Program provides clients with energy saving measures that can be done in the home as well as inexpensive tools to make small repairs in the home such as storm windows, weather stripping, and energy efficient light bulbs.

CFL Recycling is now available in the Ellensburg HopeSource Office.

CFL light bulbs contain Mercury and should not be put in the trash.
