Aaron's Story:
Aaron, 19, found himself at HopeSource after receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army. He had been active duty in Iraq for over a year, and while overseas he had suffered many injuries, including being declared clinically dead and in a coma for over two days. Luckily he recovered from his injuries, but upon returning to Washington he found himself temporarily homeless and without food or money.
Aaron was a perfect candidate for the rent assistance program, as he would soon be making enough money to cover all of his expenses. HopeSource was able to help Aaron move into his own home, providing him with $350 to go toward rent, as well as a food bank card to further alleviate financial stress.
Aaron now works two jobs making more than $2500 a month. In the fall, Aaron will also be attending Central Washington University which will be paid for by his GI Bill. With HopeSource's help, Aaron was able to reestablish himself in Washington State and is now applying the skills he learned from serving our country toward being a great contributor to our community.
