HopeSource will not collect any identifying information about you such as name, Social Security numbers, etc., unless it is provided to us in the course of requesting information regarding services, donations, or employment. In any case where your personal information may be collected, HopeSource will keep that information private; it will only be used to provide the information, service, etc., and will not be sold or distributed without express consent from you.
HopeSource may perform research on our users’ demographics, interests, and behavior based on the information provided to us when making a request for services. We do this to better understand and serve our users. This research is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis to prevent identification of personal information relating to any one individual. HopeSource may share this aggregated data with our business partners.
We will protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

1. Overview
HopeSource (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides one‑to‑one SMS text messaging to clients, applicants, community partners, staff and vendors for service-related communications (e.g., appointment scheduling/confirmations, eligibility documentation reminders, case coordination, location updates, urgent notices, and customer care). This program does not include marketing, automated promotional campaigns, or bulk advertising.
2. Eligibility & Program Description
Each SMS-enabled telephone number is assigned to a specific HopeSource staff member and used within Microsoft Teams to respond to messages you send.
Messaging is conversational and as needed in connection with services you request or receive.
You must be at least 18 years old (or have legal guardian consent) to participate.
3. Opt‑In Consent
You may opt in by:
Sending an SMS to a HopeSource number we provide to you;
Providing verbal consent to a HopeSource staff member (which we may document).
By opting in, you agree to receive SMS messages related to services you seek or receive from HopeSource. Message frequency varies based on your ongoing conversations and needs.
4. Opt‑Out & Help
Opt‑Out: Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, QUIT, or END to any HopeSource message to stop receiving texts. You will receive a final confirmation text.
Help: Reply HELP for assistance or contact us at info@hopesource.us.
You can rejoin later by texting us again or providing renewed consent.
5. Charges & Carriers
HopeSource does not charge for SMS, but standard message and data rates may apply from your wireless carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Service availability, delivery, and timing may vary by carrier and location.
6. Message Types & Frequency
Types: Appointment scheduling/confirmations, documentation reminders, case coordination, facility hours/closures, status updates, urgent operational notices, and customer care.
Frequency: As needed for active conversations; no recurring marketing blasts.
7. Privacy & Data Use
We handle your information per our Privacy Policy
HopeSource does not sell, rent, share, trade, disclose, or otherwise make available your SMS opt‑in data—including your phone number, consent information, message content, and related metadata—to any third party outside HopeSource for any reason, unless required by law.
This includes no sharing with advertisers, marketers, data brokers, technology vendors, or external partners.
SMS may not be a secure channel for sensitive information. Please avoid sharing Social Security numbers, full medical records, or other highly sensitive data by text unless we specifically request and provide a secure alternative.
We may retain SMS content and related metadata consistent with our records retention and compliance obligations.
If applicable, program communications may be subject to federal/state confidentiality rules (e.g., housing, energy assistance, social services). We strive to limit SMS content to operational details and direct you to secure channels for sensitive items.
8. Consent to Electronic Communications
By using this SMS program, you consent to receive communications electronically. If you need a paper copy or an alternate accessible format, contact info@hopesource.us.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the SMS channel to send illegal, harmful, harassing, discriminatory, or infringing content. HopeSource may suspend or terminate SMS communications for misuse, threats, or abuse of staff.
10. No Emergency or Life‑Safety Use
Do not use SMS for emergencies. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911.
11. Service Changes and Availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the SMS program at any time, with or without prior notice. Messages may be delayed or undelivered due to carrier or technical issues.
12. Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability
SMS is provided on an “as‑is” and “as‑available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HopeSource disclaims all warranties and is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of SMS.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HopeSource and its officers, employees, and agents from and against claims arising out of your misuse of the SMS program or violation of these Terms.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective Date” above shows the last update. Continued participation after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Dispute Resolution; Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict‑of‑law principles. Venue and jurisdiction will be in the state or federal courts located in Kittitas County, Washington, unless applicable law requires otherwise. If you are a program participant with specific statutory rights, these Terms apply only to the extent permitted by those laws.
